Boards, skids, and ramps get matched to that exact piano and loaded before the truck leaves our Lyons yard
Desmond Okafor or Marco Vitale shows up at the hour you booked to rig it out — no guessing, no general moving crew improvising

Most Lyons-area piano moves are simple: one instrument, one flat number, no truck-hour math involved. But when a job also includes a bench, an antique cabinet, or a second smaller piano, Renata Kovac quotes it by the hour instead, with the same trained rigging crew sized to the job and no fuel or mileage add-on anywhere in Cook County.
Flat rate by piano type for standard single-piano jobs
Hourly crews for multi-piece or specialty loads
Full coverage across La Grange, Brookfield, Riverside, Berwyn, Cicero, and Summit
Do you charge by the hour or a flat rate for a local piano move?▾
Most single-piano moves in Cook County get a flat rate by piano type. If the job also includes a bench, a second instrument, or another specialty piece, Renata Kovac quotes it hourly instead.
What counts as a 'specialty load' that moves to hourly pricing?▾
An antique cabinet, a second smaller piano, or unusual furniture moving alongside the piano. A single upright, baby grand, grand, or concert grand on its own always gets the flat rate.
Is there a fuel or mileage charge anywhere in Cook County?▾
No. Coverage across Lyons, La Grange, Brookfield, Riverside, Berwyn, Cicero, and Summit is priced the same, with no fuel or mileage add-on.
How does the $150 deposit work?▾
It's refundable and comes off your final invoice. Cancel 72 or more hours ahead and it's refunded in full.
Eli Sorensen looks over every piano himself — over the phone, on a video call, or from photos you text in — before Renata Kovac puts a flat number on the written quote, priced to that exact upright, grand, or concert grand, not a generic moving estimate.
Every Rigger Draws a Piano Moving World Paycheck
Desmond Okafor trains every new hire on the boards and skids himself, and all six of our full-time riggers stay on payroll year-round — nobody’s a day-labor hire meeting your piano for the first time on move day.
The Paperwork Is Ready Before You Ask For It
Renata Kovac keeps our Illinois ICC household goods permit current for jobs that start and end in-state, plus the federal US DOT/MC authority that covers any run crossing into Wisconsin, Indiana, or Missouri — ask for the certificate of insurance and the $1M cargo figure is already printed on it.
Built Around a Cook County Calendar, Not a Generic One
When a spring flood watch rises along the Des Plaines River, we move a piano out before the water does, and once a lake-effect squall backs up the Stevenson Expressway, we build extra time into the truck’s route instead of risking a late arrival.
The Hard Parts Are Priced Before We Show Up
A turned 1920s bungalow staircase off Center Avenue, a low basement stairwell in Berwyn or Cicero, the extra miles out to La Grange or Summit — all of it gets built into the flat rate before you sign, so the invoice doesn’t grow once the truck is in your driveway.
Every One of Our 5 Trucks Rolls Out Rigged for Pianos
Boards, skids, ramps, and moving blankets sized for an upright through a full concert grand ride on every truck before it leaves the yard, so nobody’s improvising with a mattress dolly borrowed from a general move.
Book Before the Spring Recital Season Fills the Calendar
Lock in your Lyons move date online now — Cook County’s spring recital and graduation weeks fill first every year, right alongside the church and school moves Eli prices at a discount.
Rescheduling Never Adds a Dollar
A freeze warning moves your basement move-out date, or a venue’s load-in time shifts a week — either way, moving your date ahead of time doesn’t change the flat rate Renata already wrote down.
Real Piano-Type Pricing, Not a Generic Moving Calculator
Every figure traces back to an actual piano Eli or Renata has priced by type around Lyons before, with church, school, and repeat-customer discounts already folded into the total before you sign.
Riggers we hired and trained ourselves, never day labor off an app
The right number of riggers and the right boards and skids for your piano, every time

No fuel, stair, or mileage surcharge anywhere in Cook County
Boards, skids, ramps, and padded blankets already on the truck, never a line-item charge

Desmond walked our turned staircase twice before the piano ever left the wall — every corner had a plan, and the baby grand came down without a mark on the newel post.

Booked the Milwaukee run on a Tuesday and Marco’s crew had our grand loaded, driven, and set back on its legs by Thursday afternoon — same crew the whole way, no handoff.

Fourth-floor walk-up, no elevator, and they still had the upright wrapped and down the stairwell in under an hour without touching a wall.

They crated the piano the week before a January move so the cold never touched it — humidity padding, corner guards, all of it done before the truck ever showed up.

Our venue only had a two-hour load-in window before the ceremony and the piano was tuned-ready on stage with twenty minutes to spare.
